I recently got a workstation laptop that has a FirePro M6100 but it is showing up as a Radeon HD 8950. The laptop is running great and performance is outstanding but I am wanting to make sure everything is working right dispite the wrong GPU name. I use it for After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Cinema 4D and casually play some games on it. Wikipedia says the FirePro M6100 is GCN 2.0 (thus supporting FreeSync) while I saw on other sites it is GCN 1.0. I am hoping to buy a FreeSync monitor for it some day and want to make sure it would work before purchasing a new external display.
Is there anything that might not work due to this mishap? Is there any way to know for what GCN it is? Uber driver.
